It's all right. We'll see each other every second week, just so happen to meet somewhere. And I'm all right. I'm better since the last time I saw you; something is gonna happen soon. And I can't wait for it.
You can ask all my ex-best friends, I'm gonna flip the fuck out and never see you again. I'm gonna lie in wait and pick up every mistake until my ship comes in. And I can't wait for it.
Because some things happen without a reason, like my reoccurring dreams set in Grand Central Station, and what happened to you and got me right in the gut. I know some things about loss, but I'm never sure what. And I can't say for sure what I am waiting for.

I know it's been like three years, but I'm still sorry about your dog and everything else that I've missed since then. You've forgiven me for worse, so I take you for granted. You’ve forgiven me for worse, so I take you for granted more or less.
And I think I'm gonna call sometime. I've got this feeling like we could pick up where we left off, but I, as always, am just thinking of myself.
So you go live the life you want to live, and I might try again if I feel up to it. I know you quit believing anything I say. I half expect that you'll forget my name someday, and that's okay.
And you better stay home because I don't think you want to know exactly how much things have changed since you last set foot on the coast. So I'll just wait right here and hope for all these stars to line up soon. But you just say the word and I will never follow you, you just say the word and I will never follow you again.

Give up what sad shreds you still remember. I'm not the person you think I am. I folded in; now my life's in letters I might as well never have bothered to send.
September, I felt the heat come and pass. I'm writing this down for my future selves: "You'll live a hundred thousand times but you won't have known endlessness for what it is."
I know you're doing what you have to, you don't mean it. So slow, maybe if we don't move they won't see us. I know, I know, I know, but what you don't know is enough to kill.

I took a walk in the city—is that how you usually start these things? But who am I kidding, I stayed home all day. As if I've got shit to do but watch some more acquaintances get famous from my room. And it's not what I have earned, but it's just what I deserve.
No better way to get sick of yourself, I would have said the same thing. But that was years ago, and now I know how much choice I have got. If you could see me now, I only hope you'd be surprised. I only hope you never thought it'd come to this. I'm just dead space and idle hands. I got homesick, so I locked myself in.
But if we got what we wished for back in the day, I guess you'd skate with Bobby Orr. And I would wake up in 2001 and just go back to sleep.

But you’re on your own. That was way too long ago and we got old, we aged, we’ve grown through heaps of clothes. A guy might never know. New year, new me. These are the early mid-twenties.
It’s just spit and smoke. It’s an inside joke; I wouldn’t know where to start if I wanted to. That’s one thing I won’t do. Just be grateful for how things worked out if they worked out for you. And when you think of us, don’t regret the things you couldn’t change. I don’t suppose you have anyway.
